The Wings & Wetlands Virtual Festival is brought to you by the Kansas Wetlands Education  Center, City of Great Bend, Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks & Tourism, The Nature Conservancy, and Kansas Birding Festival, Inc. While we’d rather meet in person, our three-day virtual festival will prime you for your next birding adventure!

How do I register?

Register online at http://WingsandWetlands.com. $20 registration gets you access to everything the virtual festival has to offer.

What is included in my registration?

The $20 registration fee gives you access to 3 evening sessions and 3-afternoon mini-sessions of Zoom classes and workshops that will walk you through topics such as bird identification, Cheyenne Bottoms, Quivira NWR, and the importance of central  Kansas wetlands to migrating birds. Check out the schedule and list of speakers at  http://WingsandWetlands.com. Zoom presentations will have live Q&A sessions. We also will hold nightly interactive Zoom socials. Registrants will also receive discount bundles toward your next birding trip to the Great Bend area.

What experience level is the festival geared toward?

All birding levels are welcome! There will be content for beginners through experienced birders.

What equipment do I need to access the presentations?

Registrants will need to have a computer with internet access and speakers to access the presentation. A web camera and/or microphone will be necessary to participate in socials. 

​

How will I access the presentations?

Paid registration will grant you exclusive access to a festival guest area at http://WingsandWetlands.com to access links to all presentations. An access password will be emailed to you after registering.

Do I need a Zoom account to participate?

Having a Zoom account is not necessary. Participants can join a Zoom presentation by clicking on the provided Zoom meeting links. After clicking the link participants will be able to launch the Zoom presentation through their web browser. More information  and tutorials can be found at https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us

Can I still plan a birding trip to Cheyenne Bottoms and Quivira NWR this Spring?

YES. We hope this virtual festival excites you to make a trip to visit the central Kansas wetlands very soon. Spring migration typically peaks between the last week of April to the first two weeks of May at the wetlands.  Registrants will receive discount bundles for various Great Bend attractions and businesses as a thank you for attending the festival. What is the cancellation and refund policy?

All registrations are nonrefundable. Presentation materials and recorded presentations will be available to registrants to access for at least 1 month after the live stream.
